ROSH HASHANAH
It is necessary to place a fruit of the new crop on the table during Kiddush on the second night Rosh Hashanah. It should be eaten during the meal.
Those women who recite Shehecheyanu at candle lighting, should have the fruit by the candles during the blessing.
YOM KIPPUR
Those who plan to drive to shul one way for Kol Nidre should mention before lighting candles that they do not accept the Yom Tov until their arrival in Shul.
In addition to fasting, we are not allowed to wash any part of our body, except for our hands when arising and upon leaving the bathroom. No oils, lotions, or cosmetics may be applied nor may we wear leather shoes.
Those who suffer illness should consult a Rav about fasting on Yom Kippur.
SUCCOS
Meals must be eaten in the Succah. In addition to the Shul Succah others will be erected in homes and condos.
Choosing a Lulav, Esrog, Haddasim and Aravos requires expertise and patience. As a service to our members, we will take orders for the sets. Your cooperation is needed. Your order must be given before Rosh Hashanah.
