    About Ohev Shalom

Ohev Shalom Congregation was founded and incorporated in 1960 by Rabbi Pinchas A. Weberman who started with a group of 12 families living in the north end of Miami Beach.

Services were first held in the living room of an apartment on Abbott Avenue. It moved to the Florida room of the Landow family home on Collins Avenue and 78th Street. In December of that year it moved to a rented storefront at 911 Normandy Drive.

In 1965, property was bought on Bonita Drive and plans were drawn for the construction of a sanctuary by Isaac Sklar, then a recent immigrant from Cuba.

Construction commenced; and continued as funds were raised. The structure was completed in time for occupancy for the High Holidays of 1967. Its unique architecture and its magnificent interior makes it one of the outstanding Orthodox synagogues in South Florida.

    Daily Minyan and Learning

Minyan for Shachris, Minchah and Maariv as well as Rabbi Weberman's Daf Yomi Shiur every day of the year.
